Released in 2008, In a Moment encapsulates Meri Kenaz's early development as an artist. It explores the passions and frustrations of life through poetic lyrics and creative guitar playing. She is self-taught and owes her development largely to a love for creative exploration. This, together with her passion for creative word arts, is perhaps what makes Meri Kenaz's music so unique. "Port Elizabeth artist Meri Ké [Meri Kenaz] shows great diversity on her independently released album In a Moment. Opening track First Rule is a funk rock track with a singing style bordering on rap, like Wendy Oldfield’s Acid Rain. The trombone on the girl power track Good Enough gives it a jazzy feel, while the guitar work on Love in the End is more like a blues song. There’s also spoken word poetry on In a Moment, while the tortured ballad Waiting is like a cross between Alanis Morissette and Leslie Rae Dowling." - Leon Muston, The Herald 20 Feb 2009
